This award gives an understanding of the theory and practice of the in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment; commonly referred to as PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing). During the course, a number of practical exercises are undertaken using a range of portable appliance testing equipment.

This course is designed to meet and exceed the standards set by ISO 18436 Part 7 Infrared Certification, ASNT SNT-TC-1A, and ANSI/ASNT CP 108 & CP 189 recommended practices. It offers comprehensive training on thermography, equipping students with both the knowledge and practical skills they need to confidently use infrared cameras for condition-based monitoring and reliability.
Through video modules, participants will explore the science behind thermography, uncover a range of real-world applications, and develop strategies to enhance asset uptime. Additionally, they’ll gain an understanding of the relevant infrared theory and physics necessary to produce professional inspection reports. The learning experience is further enhanced with hands-on practice in our manufacturing facility, providing invaluable experience in applying these skills to real-world scenarios.
