Periodic Inspection and Testing

This award combines two existing LCL initial verification/periodic inspection and reporting qualifications which give the delegate an understanding of the theory and practice involved with the initial verification and commissioning and also the periodic inspection, testing and condition reporting of both single and three phase electrical installations. These awards follow BS7671 and the industry recognised IET Guidance Note 3.

To give delegates theoretical and practical experience in the implementation of a formal inspection and testing regime for electrical equipment.

Portable Appliance Testing

This course covers the LCL Level 3 Award in the In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT – Portable Appliance Testing) (QCF).

This award gives an understanding of the theory and practice of the in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment; commonly referred to as PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing). During the course, a number of practical exercises are undertaken using a range of portable appliance testing equipment.

It will give delegates theoretical and practical experience in the implementation of a formal inspection and testing regime for electrical equipment (portable appliances).

Level 3 Award in Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671

This award gives the learner an understanding of the IET Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition. It provides a facility for individuals working in the electrotechnical sector to develop and/or enhance their knowledge of the Requirements for Electrical Installations. The qualification covers the full content of BS7671:2018 IET Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition. The regulations apply to the design, erection and verifications of electrical installations including additions and alterations to existing installations.

The Safe Operation of Low Voltage Power Systems to comply with HTM 06 – 02
