Electrical training specialist launches new hybrid course

The Faraday Training Group has launched a new hybrid-focused course, in response to customer demand.

The Hybrid Electrical Safety Awareness course has been launched following wide-spread demand from customers, who work with electrical hybrids, for a course which covers the principles of hybrid electrical engineering.

The one-day course will cover topics including: the hazards and effects of AC and DC power, an overview of the UK Electricity at Work Regulations 1989/HSG85, Safety in Electrical Testing at Work HSE INDG354 and the safe handling and maintenance of batteries.

As well as the awareness course, The Faraday Training Group is also planning to launch a five-day hybrid course which will look at the route to authorisation. The company is currently engaging with key stakeholders to scope out the course, and ensure it meets specifications for a range of different industries.

This year, The Faraday Training Group has also launched several new courses including: Up-Skilling, which aims to enhance the skills of those who work within the electrical sector and was established in response to the growing demand for multi-skilled electrical technicians; three new EAL low voltage courses; and a Refresher in the Safe Operation of Offshore/Maritime High Voltage Power Systems course.

The expansion of the course range follows a period of rapid growth for The Faraday Training Group with the company recently employing two new lecturers and three lead tutors who will deliver the company’s expanding range of courses.

The company has also announced its plans to move to the Wilton Centre, Redcar by September 2017. The move will see The Faraday Training Group almost double its existing training and office space to a 4000m² facility which offers three purpose designed practical areas. The move is also anticipated to create up to six new lecturing jobs.
Stuart Corner, group sales manager at The Faraday Training Group, said: “This is a truly exciting time of growth for The Faraday Training Group, and I am pleased to add the Hybrid Electrical Safety Awareness course to our continually growing course range.

“Customers who work with hybrids across a range of sectors, including: automotive, maritime and the renewable power industries have shown great demand for us to run a course such as this.

“The course, like all of our courses, aims to provide delegates with the understanding and skills required to carry out their duties to a high standard and as safely as possible.

“We will be launching an in-depth five-day hybrid course, and we are seeking input from our customers and industry experts on what they would like this to entail. Our customers are our driving force and we pride ourselves on designing and delivering training which meets their specific requirements, the launch of this course is a fine example of this.”
