The Faraday Centre has provided high-quality HV training for over 25 years, and in pursuit of providing an ever improving and more comprehensive product we are pleased to announce the launch of our newly revamped terminating and jointing course.
Previously the course only involved three core XLPE terminations and straight through joints, and whilst this course was well received and reviewed by the candidates we felt it was time to rejuvenate it.
The new version covers single core easy peal and bonded cables, triplex as well as three core XLPE. Heat and cold shrink insulation with mechanical terminations are all included in the practical exercises.
Candidates should already have some experience of handling heavy cables (HV or LV), I’m afraid 2.5mm twin and earth does not count.
On successful completion of the course, you will receive a Faraday competency certificate listing the types of termination you have experience in with a limitation of 33kv. We do recommend that when it comes to applying your new skills in the field you do so under supervision initially as I’m sure you will appreciate working in the field is a lot different to the training environment.
In summary, this really is a course with lots of hands-on with an 80/20 split between practical and classroom work, which always makes for a more informative and enjoyable experience.
